We can use pythagoras theorem in such situations.

Base = 4 units

Altitude  = 3 units

So hypotneuse = sqrt(3*3 + 4*4)

                           = sqrt(25)

                           = 5 units

Therefore, distance from the origin is 5 units.

2) 5 units

Distance of the point P(x, y) from origin O(0, 0) = sqrt((x)^2 + (y)^2)

Distance of point P (3, -4) from origin = sqrt((3)^2 + (-4)^2)

Distance of point P (3, -4) from origin = sqrt(9 + 16) = sqrt(25) = 5

Distance of point P (3, -4) from origin = 5 units ——> Answer
